Check the following before generating your letter:
1. After the first 30 days you must allow the retailer at least one attempt at repair or replacement before you're entitled to a refund.
2. If you have owned the item for more than six months, you should try to include evidence that the item was faulty at the time of purchase. For example, evidence of a manufacturing defect or a widely reported issue.
3. The retailer can make a deduction from your refund after the first six months (or after the initial 30 days in the case of motor vehicles), in this instance it's often best to ask for a repair or replacement.
